True random number generator is an important building block of practical quantum key distribution. Development of low-cost and high-speed generator is desired. Previously reported high-speed random number generator needs expensive N bit analog to digital conversion circuit in which 2N-1 comparators run concurrently to generate (M<N) random bits. We proposes a new method for scalable random number generator that needs only M comparators to generate M random bits using phase noise of chaotic light source.
