[20a-A304-1] Development of GPU-based Monte Carlo Simulator for radiation physics
at subcellular scale: “MPEXS-DNA”

Microdosimetry simulation handles a large number of secondary particles and chemical species generated via interactions for quantitative estimation of DNA damage by radiation. Consequently, the simulation on CPUs has an issue on very long duration of processing time. We have developed GPU-based Monte Carlo simulator named “MPEXS-DNA” accelerating Geant4-DNA simulation with ultra-parallel processing. Using an NVIDIA’s GPU card, MPEXS-DNA has achieved up to 1,000 times speedup against Geant4-DNA simulation with single-core CPU.
