△ [20a-C102-9] Origins of spin depolarization in half-metal CrO2: High-resolution spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy study
Keywords:half-metallic ferromagnet, spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, spintronics
Half-metal CrO2 shows more than 90% spin polarization at low temperatures. However, the spin polarization drops rapidly with increasing temperatures, which cannot be understood from the macroscopic magnetic behavior of CrO2. In order to reveal origins of the rapid spin depolarization, we performed high-resolution spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements on CrO2. We directly observed a fine spin depolarization near the Fermi level above 80 K for the first time. In our talk, we will also discuss origins of the spin depolarization and methods to obtain higher spin polarization at room temperature.
