The Japanese government and private sectors are promoting the hydrogen society. In particular, Japan is in a leading position for hydrogen automotives, however there are many technical issues to overcome. In this presentation, the current situation and approach regarding the metrology of hydrogen, which is necessary for its safe and reliable use, will be explained.
