The enhancement of piezoelectric properties, overcoming the negative impact of mechanical processing (polishing and cutting), has been reported in a heat-treated piezoelectric ceramics. A severe impact on domain orientation was found due to cutting, however, the impact of polishing and cutting on the piezoelectric properties has not been studied separately. In this study, the individual effect of polishing and cutting on piezoelectric properties was investigated in prototypical ferroelectric BaTiO3 (BT) ceramics.
