Compared with inorganic transistors, organic transistors are advantageous in terms of ease of fabrication, cost, flexibility, etc. It is expected that they will be developed into products such as biosensors, electronic tags, and flexible displays that make use of them. We adopted the ESD method which is a film formation method capable of film formation in a large area and high solvent utilization efficiency. In this study, TIPS pentacene/PS blend films were formed by ESD method and transistors were fabricated using that films. Up to now we have fabricated transistors using TIPS pentacene/PMMA blend films. But there were issues such as gate leakage and low mobility. Therefore, PMMA was changed to PS and we investigated effect of the polymer insulating film. TIPS pentacene/PS blend films were observed unique appearance different from TIPS pentacene/PMMA blend films. In the transistors using TIPS pentacene/PS blend films, we confirmed improvement of one digit or more of mobility and suppression of gate leakage. It is presumed that the phase separation interface is smooth.
