Submicroscale microstructures with metallic surfaces such as gold and silver can be used as sensing chips using both plasmon excitation and grating coupling. Previous studies have shown that a fine barnacle-like structure is one of the candidates. In this study, we prepared a polystyrene template for barnacle-like structure to make it more easily and homogeneously by soft-nanoimprinting based method. And we evaluated the spectral shift in the extinction spectra depending on the changes of the peripheral refractive index assuming substance adsorption.
