Metamaterials are artificially structured materials that can exhibit remarkable characteristics, which are not found in natural materials. We have reported a slow-light waveguide using the wavelength dispersion of metamaterials. In this paper, we report about the demonstration results of the slow-light effect caused by the Si-wire waveguide with metamaterials.
