(1-x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3 ((1-x)PMN-xPT) with x>0.3 is commonly considered to be a classical ferroelectric and its dielectric constant is expected to follow the classical Cuire-Weiss law. In contrast to this expectation, we found that the dielectric constant of PMN-PT with x=0.4 dosen't follow the Cuire-Weiss law, and it actually follows an exponetial law around Tc in the paralectric phase. This exponenial change in dielectric constant with temperature is essentially due to the exponetial growth of the local plarization in paraelectric phase as observed experimentally.
