[20p-P2-12] Evaluation of photodamage on living cells due to irradiation of blue laser light
Keywords:live cell imaging, blue light
To examine the effect of blue light on living cells, a quantitative evaluation of the toxicity caused by irradiating blue laser light was carried out using a live cell imaging method. We estimated irradiation energies resulting in a cell survival rate of 50 % for the irradiation of 450 nm blue laser light to the nucleus and cytoplasm of living cells. In the case of irradiation intensities of 50, 100 W/cm2, the irradiation energies resulting in a cell survival rate of 50 % were about 100 kJ/cm2 for both nucleus and cytoplasm irradiation, indicating the equal toxicity. For the irradiation intensities of 400, 800 W/cm2, the toxicity for living cells caused by irradiation to the nucleus was confirmed to be higher than that to the cytoplasm.
