[20p-P3-1] Dispersion Compensation of Intense Femtosecond Laser Pulses with Water Medium

A novel scheme of pulse compression on intense femtosecond laser was studied. Second harmonics of amplified laser pulses with negative-chirp are introduced into water medium, which are temporally compressed by dispersion of water itself at the focal point in the water . This makes it possible for femtosecond laser irradiation under water, which was prevented by laser damage and nonlinear temporal distortion of transmission optical fiber.
