[20p-P4-24] Pulse-modulated, high-frequency dielectric barrier discharge plasma sterilization

Today plasma sterilization has potential as an antimicrobial sterilization procedure and is studied not only in the medical industry, but also in agricultural and other industrial settings. Plasmas generated by a pulse discharge under atmospheric pressure have been used this experiment. Geobacillus stearothermophilus were inactivated by plasma treatment with a mixture of helium gas and oxygen gas as the process gas. A correlation between oxygen ratio of the mixed gas and antibacterial effect was indicated at the certain rate although some ozone was generated depending on the density of oxygen.
