△ [18a-C206-11] Electric polarization of biomedical tissues induced by ultrasound waves II
Keywords:ultrasound wave, electric polarization, Achilles tendon
Fibrous biomedical tissues are known to have piezoelectricity. Recently, we observed electric polarization of such fibrous tissues induced by ultrasound waves and found that the polarization is proportional to the applied acoustic pressure. In the case of piezoelectricity, the polarization is expected to reflect crystal symmetry. The purpose of this study is to clarify the anisotropy of acoustically induced polarization with Achilles tendon as the measuring object. In this talk, we will report the experimental results of anisotropy considering the direction of ultrasound irradiation and the fiber orientation.
