[18a-E101-4] PbS quantum dot/ZnO solar cells: planar-type and nanowire-type cells
Keywords:colloidal quantum dots, ZnO nanowires, Solar cells
Most widely-studied PbS colloidal quantum-based solar cells (planar type solar cells) are typically made up of three different layers stacked in tandem; ZnO dense layers (n-type simiconductors), PbS QD layers (absorbers), and electron blocking layers (or hole transport layers). On the other hand, we have been focusing on colloidal quantum dot solar cells composed of PbS QD/ZnO nanowire mixtures (NW type solar cells), wherein, unlike planar type solar cells, no electron blocking layers are required. In the presentation, we study how deposition of electron blocking layers affects solar cell performance of NW type solar cells, and the differences between NW-type cells and planar ones.
