Intercellular adhesion strengths of cancer cells having different malignancies were studied by using atomic force microscopy (AFM). In result, the adhesion strengths between two highly malignant cancer cells were larger than that of low malignant cancer cells. Obtained results were analyzed with Bell's model, which is a theoretical model to explain molecular binding kinetics on two cell membranes, and a possibility in which number densities of binding receptors increased depending on the raising of cancer cell malignancy was suggested.
