[18a-E308-9] Carbon addition effect on re-graphitization of graphene oxide
Keywords:graphene, photoemission electron microscorpy, scanning tunneling microscopy
Re-graphitization of graphene oxide (GO) on Pt(111) surfaces by annealing has been studied by means of photoemission electron microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy. While incomplete re-graphitization and decomposition of GO take place on a clean surface during annealing up to 940 degree C, annealing with pre-deposited C60 molecules results in completed re-graphitization to form a single layer graphene at the interface between GO and Pt(111), which is left undecomposed even after decomposition of multilayer GO and surrounding epitaxial graphene by annealing up to 970 degree C.
