[18a-E318-8] Spin polarization of field-emitted electrons from <100>-oriented Co2MnGa emitter

For a development of field electron emitters with high spin polarization, we fabricated Heusler alloy Co2MnGa emitters which expected exhibit half-metallic property and evaluated the spin polarization of field-emitted electrons from the emitters. The spin polarization of field emitted electrons from Co2MnGa(100) surface is 60-70% when the surface was cleaned by hydrogen-promoted field evaporation and identified by field ion microscope. The value of the spin polarization well agrees with that expected by the first-principle calculation.
