[18a-PA7-5] Regeneration of Sodium Borohydride and Oxidation Suppression of Reducing Agent Magnesium by Hydrogen Plasma

Takuya Takahashi1, Naoki Maeda1, Ryohei Kurebayashi1, Akihisa Ogino1 (1.Shizuoka Univ.)

Keywords:Sodium Borohydride (NaBH4), Sodiumu Metaborate (NaBO2), hydrogen carrier

It focuses on sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as a renewable hydrogen carrier. Prior study NaBH4 regeneration methods using ball milling, which require Mg as a reducing agent, have not resulted in significant cost reduction of NaBH4. Also in this study, Mg is considered to play an important role in the reduction reaction to NaBH4. Therefore, we investigated a new regeneration method that can be processed at low temperature and low pressure and does not consume Mg by using the high chemical reactivity of plasma.
