In order to understand the electrochemical reaction processes of the ionic liquid based Li-ion battery, it is essential to elucidate electronic states formed by solute metal ions (as energy carriers) and the ionic liquid. In this study, we applied attenuated total reflection far-ultraviolet (ATR-FUV) spectroscopy, which can measure electronic transition absorption spectra of various materials in far-ultraviolet region (140 nm ~ 300 nm), and tried to evaluate electronic states of ionic liquid electrolytes ([BMP][DCA] containing Li[TFSI] or Ag[TFSI]). It was found that the spectral shift direction depended on the metal ion species, and was consistent to the results obtained by quantum chemical calculations (TD-DFT).
