[18p-E311-2] Selective growth of layered rock-salt-type LiVO2 and spinel-type LiV2O4 films by PLD

Layered rock-salt-type ABO2 and spinel-type AB2O4 are essentially similar structures based on the oxygen cubic close-packed lattice. In particular, substances with Li at the A site are well studied as secondary battery materials. However, it is only LiVO2 and LiV2O4 that single crystals exist in both structures with the same B cation. Moreover, there is no report on the synthesis of these thin films because it is difficult to control the Li content. Here we report the success of selective thin film growth of layered rock-salt-type LiVO2 and spinel-type LiV2O4 using pulsed laser deposition (PLD).
