[19a-E203-4] Elucidation of contribution to membrane protein localization
by artificial lipid bilayer domain
Keywords:lipid bilayer, membrane protein, domain
Within a plasma membrane, the domains that are various biological reaction sites are considered to be aggregates of specific lipids and membrane proteins. However, there are few reports that directly examined the influence of domains on the structure and dynamics of membrane proteins incorporated into the lipid bilayer membrane. In this study, with using the model membrane protein bacteriorhodopsin (bR), we observed the bR structure and diffusivity in the artificial lipid bilayer membrane (SLB) by AFM and fluorescence microscopy. Through the comparison with the various lipid composition, we aimed at elucidating the contribution of the charged lipid rich-domain to membrane protein localization.
