[19a-E207-6] Mono-Dispersed Microparticles of Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Polymers with Controlled Helical Axis Orientation and Evaluation of Omni-Directional Reflection Behavior
Keywords:Cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers, Polymeric microparticles, Selective light reflection
Three-dimensional control of the helical axis orientation in cholesteric liquid crystals, enabling to design various optical properties such as reflection, diffraction and refraction, has attracted much attention for developing next-generation photonic applications. Here we report a new method for fabricating mono-dispersed microparticles of cholesteric liquid crystal polymers in a single-step. We revealed that the microparticles have a three-dimensional radial orientation of helical axis, and evaluated the optical properties.
