△ [19a-E318-7] Magnetotransport study of ambipolar conduction in Yb
Keywords:rare earth metal
It is reported that 0.69 holes per atom contribute to the electrical conduction in the Hall effect of Yb. On the other hand, it is reported that the number of Yb holes is 3.8 × 10-3 per atom in magnetization. In this study, we thought that Yb is a compensation metal, and both holes and electrons contribute to electrical conductivity. Therefore, we measured transverse magnetoresistivity in addition to Hall resistivity. From this result, two electrical conductivity factors different in mobility was confirmed, and regression analysis was performed based on the measurement results to evaluate the carrier concentration and the mobility of holes and electrons.
