In the quantum dot three-dimensional superlattice fabricated by the layer-by-layer method, it can be expected that coupling of electronic states (i.e. quantum resonance) in both in-plane direction and stacking direction is generated. In this research, we aimed to control the dimensionality of quantum resonance by independently controlling the distance between quantum dots (QDs) in the in-plane and stacking direction respectively. In addition, we experimentally verified the formation of minibands in the quantum dot superlattices (QDSLs) with different dimensionality of electronic states by comparing the detection energy dependency of the photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra in the QDSLs and the randomly dispersed QDs.
