In incubation-type planar patch clamp that measures ion channel currents from neural cell networks, it is important to know characteristics of series resistance Rs of the entire device. In this study, it was found that when resistance of salt bridge type electrodes and solution flow channel is kept low, resistance of a micro pore of a substrate greatly affects Rs. From this, it is clear that it is important to measure the resistance of the substrate precisely in advance.
