△ [19p-E214-3] Measurement of Near-field Heat Radiative Transfer Between Nanogap With Single Crystal Silicon Cleavage Planes
Keywords:near-field radiative transfer, nanogap, thermionic generation
For evaluating the feasibility of thermionic generation near room temperature, this research aims to create nanogap with smooth opposing surface and uniform gap distance, and to measure near-field radiative transfer between the gap. In experiment, while changing by electrostatic actuator distance of nanogap fabricated by cleaving single crystal silicon with 53 nm initial gap distance and 21.5 µm2 opposing surfaces area, one end was heated and the temperature change of both ends was measured by Raman microscope. The observed heat transfer was significantly smaller than the theoretical calculation.
