[19p-E216-10] Solar hydrogen production using a photovoltaic/battery/electrolyzer system for global network of renewable hydrogen

For the decarbonization of our energy system, Japan lacks the capacity of domestic renewable energy resources and necessitates the import of CO₂-free fuel from oversea regions. The ultimate form of such fuel will be green hydrogen produced with renewable energy. This talk will quantitatively introduce the necessity of renewable hydrogen from oversea regions which are rich in renewable resources. The talk will also introduce recent trials of solar hydrogen production using the system combining photovoltaic modules, water electrolyzers and batteries for improving the utilization ratio of electrolyzers.
