The allotropy of carbon which lead it to exist in different nanostructures, including carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon nanofibers (CNFs), fullerene and graphene has opened itself as a potential candidate in the field of nanotechnology for improving performance and extended capabilities of new as well as existed products. The search of graphene synthesis at low temperature using low melting point metals as catalyst like Indium (1) shows that it can be synthesized even at low temperature. Here we revealed another low melting point metal Gallium incorporated carbon nanofibers and cones and studied their I-V characteristics under in-situ TEM which led to the distinct graphitization of amorphous carbon based CNFs and cones showing gallium as potential candidate in the field of catalysis of graphene synthesis.
