We have investigated the optical properties of CdTe quantum dot superlatteices (QDSLs) prepared by using chemical bonds between ligands. From the X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, it was confirmed that the prepared sample has a periodic arrangement (i.e. superlattice) structure. The absorption peak of CdTe QDSLs shifts to the low energy side compared to CdTe quantum dots (QDs). It indicates that energy resonance has occurred due to the coupling of wave functions between CdTe QDs. Furthermore, we have investigated the photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra of CdTe QDs and QDSLs by systematically changing the detection energy. From these experiments, we obtained results suggesting the formation of minibands in CdTe QDSLs.
