We are interested in the relationship between the dynamics of colloidal particles confined by two parallel plates and two-dimensional Ising model. Our goal is to create a new kind of heuristic for combinatorial optimization inspired by the behavior of the colloidal system. Our experimental research suggests that spatially local annealing of Ising spin distribution leads to proper solutions for combinatorial optimization problems.
