We investigated wide-range and continuous pulse-duration dependence of the volume of the craters prepared with ultrashort-pulse laser drilling on metals with different thermal conductivity. The obtained dependence revealed a minimal point and their position depended on thermal conductivity of the metals. It suggests that the minimal point bounds two regions, long-pulse thermal region and short-pulse less theramal region.
