Pd exhibits high catalytic activity in coupling reaction and reduction reaction, and Au nanoparticles support localized surface plasmon resonance from the visible to near infrared region. In the present study, we synthesized one-dimensionally stacked Pd nanosheets-Au nanorings based on self-assembled Pd nanosheets. Aiming at the application as photocatalysts, we attempted to control the number of stacked layers and examined its influence on the optical properties of the Au nanorings.
