[19p-PB9-10] Effect of buffer molecules on the adsorption process of protein molecules onto water surface
Keywords:Ferritin, Quasi-elastic laser scattering, molecular absorption
The goal of our study is to clarify the adsorption process of ferritin molecules onto water surface by measuring the surface tension and the viscosity by using quasi-elastic laser scattering spectroscopy. In this study, we investigated two buffer systems, Tris and PIPES; former is the most common buffer in the biology experiments and the latter is known to have advantage of growth for two-dimensional molecular crystals on the water surface. As a result, it has been revealed that the PIPES buffer molecule has an ability to assist the adsorption process of the ferritin molecule to the water surface.
