△ [20p-E306-2] Bactericidal Effect of E. coli in Phosphate Buffered Solutions including Tryptophan Irradiated with Oxygen Radicals
Keywords:Bactericidal effect of oxygen-radical-activated amino acids, Bterilization in neutral pH, Tryptophan
Previously, we have reported about the generation of a bactericidal effect by oxygen-radical-activated aromatic-amino-acids solutions in the neutral pH region. Considering that the radical-activated solutions, which also reduce the viability of Escherichia coli, do not interfere the growth of radish sprouts, this sterilization technique is promisingly applicable for soil-less agriculture such as hydroponics and plant factories, unlike general plasma-activated water which needs lower pH than 4.8 to efficiently work against the bacteria. In the presentation, we would like to discuss about the strong bactericidal effect of Escherichia coli using oxygen-radical-activated Tryptophan.
