We touch the surrounding objects and acquire necessary information called tactile feeling. A variety of researches are currently conducted to elucidate the skin and higher-order mechanisms related to this tactile feeling. Moreover, if tactile feeling can be presented artificially, it enables various applications such as feeling music with the whole body. In this presentation, I will introduce scientific and engineering aspects of researches on tactile feeling.
