[20p-E314-11] Improvement of Textured Rib-Si Solar Cells

For the improvement of the conversion efficiency in silicon solar cells, we are developing Rib type solar cells. In this study the modifications of the layer-structured Rib and c-Si solar cells were investigated. For instance, we obtained the dependence of the open circuit voltage (Voc) toward the i-a-SiO:H layer-thickness. Thicker i-a-SiO:H layer increased Voc. On the other hand the i-a-SiO:H layer thicker than 2nm reduced Voc. This suggests the increasing the number of the interface defects due to the excessive deposition of the i-a-SiO:H layer.
