[20p-E318-1] [INVITED] µSR study of rutile TiO2 defect structure
Keywords:TiO2, Muon, defect
The defect structure of rutile TiO2 was explored by muon spin rotation, relaxation and resonance method. The measurements show muon-hydrogen complex in oxygen vacancy (VO), which indicates hydrogen complex can be stabilized in VO because muon is a lepton which behave as a hydrogen isotope. The distance of muon and hydrogen was 1.7 Å. Electron spins were not detected. Probably because the muon and residual hydrogen forming covalent bond. The driving force of forming the structure might be the electrostatic force between negatively charged hydrogen atom and muon.
