We have constructed the element-specific time-resolved measurement system using the magneto-optical effect at core level absorption in order to elucidate the photo-induced transient state of magnetic materials. We performed time-resolved resonant magneto-optical Kerr effect measurement for a Co/Pt multilayer thin film at Co M and Pt N edges and determined the demagnetization time scales of Co and Pt moments.
