[20p-PB4-81] Elemental composition characterization of air-borne particulate matters hourly-collected from atmosphere by in-air micro-PIXE analysis
Keywords:in-air micro-PIXE, ion microbeam, Particle matter
Particulate Matters (PM) are often used as an indicator of transboundary air-pollution event across the countries. In order to estimate the origin of transboundary air contamination, chemical composition of PMs is considered as one of a key and effective factor for source apportionment, although other complexity like metrological factors should be also taken into account. In this study, external micro-PIXE (Particle Induced X-ray Emission) technique was applied for elemental composition analysis of hourly collected PM samples. PIXE spectra of PM illustrated the differences in elemental composition with dependencies of particle size as well as microbeam imaging results which is key factor for the source apportionment of PM origins.
