発光寿命がサブナノ～ナノ秒でありながら高エネルギーX線領域の光子に対しても高い検出効率を有する酸化ハフニウムナノ粒子充填プラスチックシンチレータを作成した。酸化ハフニウムナノ粒子を高濃度に充填したプラスチックシンチレータでは60%を超える検出効率を達成した。
