When we prepare carbon nanotube(CNT) by chemical vapor deposition, many people use alumina layre for to support catalyst. We studied relationship between oxidation state of aluminum and growth of CNT by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. We got result that amount of CNT growth has positive correlation with aluminum with an oxidation number of +3.
