Solution plasma (SP) is a unique method to synthesize highly hetero-atom doped carbon material by polymerization of organic monomer at room temperature. Nowadays, carbon dots (CDs) have received much attention due to their optical property by the photon transition.. The CDs have a potential to utilize wide application such as bio imaging, ion/molecule detection and photocatalyst using optical property. The efficiency of absorbed light to emitted light on CDs is important for sensitivity in application and it can be controlled by the hetero atoms in carbon structures and surface passivation. In this study, we synthesized highly nitrogen doped CDs (NCDs) using pyridine and water. Furthermore, molecular detection applied fluorescence change of CDs was carried out. The NCDs emitted a strong blue fluorescence light under UV light at 340 nm. The N concentration and quantum yield increased up to 16 at.% and 61 %, respectively. The absorption bands of NCDs were observed around 250 and 340 nm which were assigned to π-π* and n-π* transition, respectively. The rapid decreasing of intensity of fluorescence (about 4%) was observed by even 1μM of trinitrophenol.
