We have proposed novel cluster formation method based on laser ablation at the air-liquid interface. Here, we report electrocatalytic activity of CuO catalyst derived from Cu cluster prepared by laser ablation at the air-liquid interface. Cu cluster drived catalyst showed highly catalytic activity for electrochemical water oxidation compared to the previously-reported CuO catalysts, Cu, Cu2O, CuO reference catalysts and Cu-Cu2O nanoparticles prepared by laser ablation in liquid.
