[10p-W351-1] [INVITED] Phonon relaxation process in nanostructures and application to micro-scale thermoelectric generation devices

When applying thermoelectric materials as an energy harvester to harvest the minimal waste heat, miniaturization of the thermoelectric material element itself is required. Toward the development of such a small energy conversion device, we carried out (1) thermoelectric property measurement of extremely thin MoS₂ layers and (2) local temperature measurement using laser Raman spectroscopy. We will describe the research guidelines for devices utilizing thermoelectric materials based on the results together with theoretical results.
