Keywords:quantum electromagnetic fields at the nanoscale, plasmon, quantum dynamics

We have developed quantum electromagnetic field theory at the nanoscale, on the basis of polariton that is an elementary excitation of electron-hole pair coupled with photon. In this presentation, we focus on plasmon as an elementary excitation, to discuss quantization of electromagnetic fields interacting at the nanoscale, as well as to show how to formulate non-equlibrium quantum dynamics. We also illustrate what kind of research fields, or problems our formulation can be applied to, and discuss extention of the method to 2d-material system and 3d finite nanosystem as well as the issues.
