Photon Breeding (PB) is the annealing process with an imposed carrier current
and light, of which wavelength is the desirable one in the emission after the process. Using this method, an indirect-type semiconductor becomes a light emitting diode and/or a magneto-optical device. The present work aims to give a theoretical description for the PB. We employ the response theory equally treating the scalar and vector potentials in the Heisenberg picture and regard the dressed photon ( the inherent electromagnetic field in the material) as the cause of the response. The non-linear effect associated with the PB become non-trivial if the next conditions are satisfied:
1. the non-commutativity of operators of charge and current densities work properly,
2. the amplitude of the TO phonon is enhanced in the cavity owing to the PB,
3. the non-resonant condition is imposed to achieve self-interaction of the TO photon.
