Since the device performance of an organic thin-film semiconductor significantly depends on the crystal structure and molecular orientation in the film, understanding of the structure-controlling factors is of great importance. In the present study, the structural controlling factors of a tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP) thin film are revealed by using the pMAIRS and GIXD techniques. The crystal structure of a spin-coated H2TPP film after thermal annealing is revealed to be determined by the initial film structure, which can be controlled by the evaporation time of the spin-coating solvent.
