[9a-M112-10] Role of tunnel junction in light-modulated STS on solar cells
Keywords:solar cell, scanning tunneling microscopy
When local efficiencies of solar cells are characterized by light-modulated scanning tunneling spectroscopy, the electric properties of the samples are measured via a tunnel junction with a large resistance. Thus, a finite voltage drop at the junction is unavoidable in photocurrent measurements. We show that the voltage drop can be reasonably reduced by reducing the tip-sample distance and discuss the residual effect of the tunnel junction properties to the local characterization of solar cells.
