Layered LiNbO2 becomes a superconductor (TC = 5.5 K) by inducing Li deficiency. However, its detailed electronic state has not been revealed. We first succeeded in synthesizing superconducting Li1-xNbO2 films by using a 3 step synthesis method, and found that it shows both p-type conductivity and high transparency to visible light. In this study, we attempted to figure out the origin of p-type transparent superconductivity through evaluation of electronic states by synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy.
