In a wood drilling by a CO2 laser, carbonization is produced by thermal processing. To control of carbonization, Investigation of a laser pulse waveform in a CO2 laser is important. Therefore, in this study, the influence of a laser pulse waveform in a wood drilling by a CO2 laser was investigated. In this study, four types of laser pulse waveforms were used. By a short pulse with a pulse tail with the energy ratio of a spike pulse to a pulse tail of 1:70, maximum cut efficiency was obtained in this study.
